Who is the greatest Six Nations Team of the last 20 years?
For United States Rugby the question is really becoming, could the USA not acutally realistically be able to compete as a 7th Nation in the Six Nations! The US has an incredible number of players which is getting right up there and competing with the top 3 nations globally such as England, Wales and New Zealand. The USA Sevens players are actually winning tournaments like the Las Vegas Sevens and these tournaments are on the top Sevens circuit including the likes of Hong Kong… its the actual international Sevens circuit with all the sevens players who are entered into the Olympics! These are you will be delighted to hear the greatest sevens players in the world! Carlin Isles is one of the greatest runners in the world and he actually plays for the USA!
Could the USA take part in the Six Nations!
Thanks to Betway we can at least compare the actual Six Nations teams because they have produced this super neat little table below which brings all the key data together into one place!
Ok! Lets compare and contrast!
We think if USA were to prove its entry criteria for the Six Nations competition then perhaps regularly defeating Italy & Scotland and perhaps even defeating a nation such as Ireland who have been beaten by Italy etc and are arguably a little over inflated due to a series of results quite a few seasons ago although only around 10 years ago which happened during the last 20 years in which the Six Nations has been running. You see previous to 20 years ago it was actually the Five Nations so teams do join the tournament!
Its interesting to think of the USA in there… no one is saying they are able yet to consistently compete with England… and Wales is likely really a step to far for them presently! But with their international sevens status growing all the time and the situation in which they personally express that desire to begin to actually get the results against the likes of Italy and Scotland and even make strides and significantly close that gap with Ireland with a view to surpassing Ireland then we think this would be a wonderful reflection of the work that the USA the richest country in the world has done in the last 20 years and would also really pave the way to that global high status achievement of hosting a World Cup which would be totally spectacular and amazing in the USA!
There is no question they could handle it!
